@npr: Famed costume designer Bob Mackie died Monday. He was 87 years old.   Mackie was known as the “Sultan of Sequins” for the show-stopping looks he created for famous performers, and his dazzling designs became as memorable as the stars who wore them — think Cher's feathered mohawk headdress at the 1986 Oscars.
