You could speak your native language at home and than school can focus on English. Plenty of families that now call Australia home do this I have friends that are Vietnam and German, which assume born kids and they do not speak English at home. Sure more can be done but a lot can be done at home/community

In community everyone speaks language, had to learn mob language to live and work out in Community. Think language is pretty good. Books at the school were in language at the community school too
