Yes!! My girl is a runner. She just wants to run. When other dogs try to play bitey face with her she's like oh momma I wanna leave I'm scared. Whenever I see a herding dog or running breeds I'm like well thank GOD

when I first got my dog, I took her to the dog park and I saw this happening and I was yelling at all the other dogs and she was between my legs, and I was shoving them off her and the other owners were like they were just playing, and I never went back. lesson learned

Do you have advice for having two dogs that play differently? Our older dog LOVES to be chased and we got a puppy a few months ago who really wants to play but we can’t let him chase her because he has no bodily awareness and will break everything in our home if we let them play the way they want. Even in a yard we have to stop them after a while because he won’t give her a break. Every so often I wish they would just wrestle instead but our older dog won’t play like that at all. It’s chase or nothing with her. So inside we have to keep them separate if we’re not watching very closely

Totally agree….we avoid dog parks. Today we Went to a SniffSpot today with my dog & his friend. They had an acre of sniffing & even a special digging spot with sand

Can you explain a little bit more on when things are getting too rough? My dogs love to chase each other and then wrestle but I worry it goes too far sometimes and I’m just blind to it

My two dogs don’t have the same play style, and it’s taken about a year for them to figure out a compromise. One likes to chase and the other likes more bitey face/ sparing. They will both tug but it’s both their third favorite way to play. They’re better at taking turns doing their favorite thing, but really I have one dog who is super laid back and his ability to adapt saves us. If he was personality wise more like my older lady but still had the same preferences for play we’d be in trouble.

My dog is a puppy was belligerent. At eight weeks old, she was belligerent and a bully towards other dogs. That shit ain’t never gonna change. Liebchen is almost 7yo. She has never played with another dog. I love an accept her who she is.

For the first time in my life I have two dogs who have nearly identical play styles. It’s been such an eye opening experience about how NOT well matched previous dogs have been.

I also have an opinion as such if there is no movement and it’s an enclosed environment that’s restricted there’s too much tension. We go to a dog park but it’s over 6-8 miles of walkable and hikable space so we are always moving and nothing is stagnant.

Ive had 3 dog's at once, I have 2 now. my husky mix likes being chased and to wrestle, my old cattle dog didnt like that,she liked chasing and toys. she was also very soft and didnt like rough play it scared her, so eventually my husky started hating her and became incredibly aggressive towards just her. ive never seen my husky mix ever get aggressive towards anything besides smaller animals (she has a hard core prey drive but hates toys, working on it) I had to rehome my cattle dog due to multiple things,but the biggest was she just wasnt safe in my home anymore. but my husky LOVES my rottweiler mix, my rotty loves to wrestle and chase and hard-core play

My dog met her best friend at a dog park. From that moment on we never went back. She now has regular play dates and sleepovers with her bestie and I even go a great friend out it too!

This makes a lot of sense! We recently started going to dog parks, but they are typically just fenced in dog friendly trails, most if the time the dogs don’t want to play and just want to greet each other. I take my guy to playdates with my grandma’s 2 dogs and the older dog usually likes to play around them for the first few minutes then come inside with the humans. The younger 2 dogs wrestle and take turns chasing each other.
