queen dw! i did rly well in hs and college was like a shock wave, you just have to find the best way to study for YOU. personally, i rewrite over and over and then study until i am able to teach it. the best way to think of it is to study until ur EXCITED for the exam bc yk ur gonna do well. i failed my first 4 exams of college until i talked to my professor and figured out a study method. IT DOES GET BETTER!!!!!🤍

Bro my first year went horrible. Dropped all but one class my first semester, and the next semester I got a D and C in my classes. 2 semesters later and I’m now a straight A student taking 5 classes with 3 of them being stem. It always gets better.. you just have to keep trying until you get a hang of it. change study methods that aren’t working, take advantage of study groups or tutoring centers, adapt to studying all the material the same day of the class, etc. Change doesn’t happen overnight but consistency is the key to success. I’m sure you’ll do amazing and I’m wishing you all the best :)

it does get better! I failed two calculus exams my sophomore year, but I just finished my math minor in the spring and I’m graduating this upcoming spring! STEM is hard!! You got this! Failure is part of the process🫶🏻

Hey! Some college exams are HARD, and shit happens (overslept on the day you were supposed to study, didn’t have time to focus on certain concepts, sick, family issues, mental health, or just a bad day) so give yourself grace! College got easier for me when I started being kinder to myself and allowing myself to breathe. Although it can feel daunting, meet with your professors to go over the exams that feel like a struggle or that didn’t go as well, practice practice and practice, and try to go to office hours/study sessions before exams. Professors can sometimes be super open to discussing concepts to the point where they may be like “there will be a large question like {insert question here} on the exam, so study that”

Failing is just part of the process. Ask your professor if you can see your questions missed. You’ll probably have to review it under their supervision but that’s okay, circle back to the concepts missed. Was it truly the concept that you didn’t understand, was a technicality (maybe you put 0.00789 and the answer was actually 0.0090) or was the question phrased weird? Find the root of the problem and then revise your notes, failing the first one isn’t end of the world but everything after this is built off that block. You want it to be strong. Second, GO TO OFFICE HOURS. Go to tutoring. The only dumb questions asked are the ones that don’t leave your head. Ask em, ask em all. Office hours are so so helpful, there is a lot to be learned from missed questions, professors want you to understand their passion, understand the material, a good professor won’t mind walking you through it again.
