@.carolgiselle: Yesterday I reflected on my lesson and realized I was LOUD loud 😂 I was pushing my energy so hard because I wanted to keep my kids engaged. Today I wanted to bring my personality but in a more serene way. Still energetic, still engaging, but calmer. For small group phonics today, I modeled two different drills. One was sound blending where I gave the sounds and the kids blended them together when I clapped. The other was breaking words down where I gave them the word and they broke it apart. And y’all… THEY DID SO GOOD. 🥹👏🏽 I kept giving them more and more words and they were locked in. Then we moved into a cheer that they can actually take back to their classrooms and use to engage everyone. Sometimes kids just need to SEE what something looks and sounds like before they can do it themselves. And honestly… I wish I had videos like this when I was in college studying to become a teacher. Seeing real teachers actually MODEL what engagement, phonics, transitions, and classroom management look like would’ve helped me so much.
