I’m not sure who she is. But the case isn’t over until it’s over. She needs to contact the non emergency number and tell them she has an open case give the case #. Then ask that she needs to speak to a Sgt. The Sgt will look into the case and will either give and update or will contact the detective themselves. I work for LE btw. Not for LA but for SD. Either way it’s the same process! Not sure if someone can pass this on to this girl.
