@ryansharper: "Fidelity has more employees in Dallas than it does in Boston." Ken Malcolmson on the region quietly becoming a banking capital again, from Schwab and TIAA to three stock exchanges. #dallas #banking #finance #texaseconomy
This is ALL BS. Dallas is the financial back office shit jobs hub. Don’t be fooled.

Dallas is no longer a "secondary market."
It's the new frontier of American finance.
And the people who move early—who build relationships, buy property, and position themselves now—will be the ones who win.

It’s astonishing how the region has transformed. As a Dallas native in my 30s, it has become so competitive to stand out as a viable candidate. I am competing with young Ivy League alumni.

Other industries have strong representation. Telecom is also big. Aerospace/defense, large insurance presence, National and Texas wide hospital systems (Tenet, Christus Health, Baylor/Scott & White, Steward Health, large HCA regional presence), TI and other chip/semiconductor companies.

We have food deserts in the city. So much money coming through, yet we wait on gentrification to repair cities.

so even schwab that moved its HQ to Dallas from SF. It's a hollow or shell HQ for Schwab to sweep capital there to lower there SF tax bill yet all there seniors and front office guys remain in SF and Colorado mostly. So good financial jobs moving to Dallas is BS. Some or most trash jobs move to Dallas to save corporate taxes and pay lower wages.

Yes it might have hq here , but their executives remain in California or Boston. They dump their regular employees here

It’s the back office employees - salaries are cheap here. Then they cut those jobs. The execs get to work in premium places like NYC, LA, CHI

JP Morgan Chase has more people in DFW than NY But all their front office people are in NY. There's a reason for that.
