Neanderthals did have cave paintings. And it took us about 200,000 years to surpass our cousins in terms of technology. Right up until the invention of agriculture we were all making very similar stone tools.

Our own species was like that for 90% of its history. All major advancements like Agriculture, writing and the wheel are less than 10,000 years old which is very recent.

if you took a group of current humans, even if some of them are educated and threw them into a primitive environment, they wouldn't get out of the stone age possibly for generations. our technological progress is built on feeding of each other's accomplishments. Writing was invented like 5 times by our whole species. most of us however would never invent anything throughout our whole lives.

"why are we the only ones that evolved like this?" easy answer, we aren't, we are the only ones that evolved like this and SURVIVED, remember that there was more hominid species and all of them went extinct, we also almost got extinct, so as with everything in evolution it was pure luck, we just got the mutation needed that allowed us avoid extinction

you get smarter the smarter you are. its exponential growth mixed with a lack of aggressive and copious amounts of predators during our development stages, once we started dominating it stunted everything else around us and itll stay that way. no need for god

not really, Neanderthals alone were shown to be intelligent enough to make complex musical tools, actual grand cave art, live alongside homo sapiens without them telling the difference, and they had relgious cultural and burial rituals
