TMZ video showed the vehicle crossing water (due to perhaps a leaky sprinkler in the center divider with vegetation present - common in parts of Irvine), and the Mclaren with its wide and treadless tires, hydroplaned..where brakes was applied and caused the steering to veer right and over the curb and smack a tree, engulfing into an inferno! Sad but ALL the wrong elements were present at once, but the car was definitely not going 100MPH, as any Tesla in Irvine goes that same speed (55-60mph) within the first 4-6 seconds of acceleration.
