@honeyhumble2.0: Accountability is really becoming a lost art. What bothers me most about this situation isn’t even that a public employee became disrespectful toward me while I was seeking assistance. It’s what happened afterward. I have video documenting portions of the interaction, including statements that I found completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Instead of reaching out afterward to acknowledge what happened, apologize, or attempt to resolve the situation, she came to the post herself, interacted with it, laughed, and continued denying wrongdoing. Other people then came into the comments attempting to discredit what I documented. This isn’t about internet drama or getting anybody attacked. This is about accountability. As Black women, we already deal with enough without disregarding and disrespecting each other — especially in spaces where people are coming for help. Regardless of how anyone personally feels about me, I believe every person walking into a public assistance office deserves to be treated with dignity and professionalism. I am preserving the original video, comments, interactions, and all other documentation from today. I will be addressing what happened through the appropriate formal channels. There was an opportunity to handle this privately and professionally. Instead, the response has been denial and further public engagement. I don’t need the internet to decide who’s right. I have documentation, and I’ll let the proper process handle the rest. Please do not harass, threaten, contact, or retaliate against anyone involved on my behalf.
