I’m sure it’s not ideal, but of all the artists in the world, he can definitely do a tour without a backing band. But anyway, he’s perfectly within his rights to say no politics on tour. If he’s consistent, that’s fine. Plenty of artists stay the hell out of politics, why shouldn’t he? People will be queuing up to play for him and be his support act on any terms he wishes.
