Hot take, surrendering your pet should mean an automatic ban for 1yr from adopting. If you truly needed to surrender your pet due to financial loss/health changes/living changes, then you don’t need to adopt any other pet. Proving you have made changes within that year over the last 90days or you’ll be denied another year. It’s horrible how many pets are left to fend for themselves when they’ve only ever known a home

Hi brand new father here, wife and daughter on couch, 4 of our doggies are downstairs. Couldn’t ask for anything better than this❤️Sad to see others can make the same life choices, upsetting to see others make cold decisions.

Our first dog was a Pitt mix, our families told us to get rid of her for fear for the baby. We raised her and our two kids together for 8.5 years until she crossed the rainbow bridge last year. She was my first baby

Pregnant asf and I have 3 dogs and 2 cats and these were my babies first. Family isn’t replaceable. My dogs will love my baby as my baby will love them.

That's how I got my Rottweiler. When he was maybe 3 months old a neighbor and his wife were walking past with him. It's my favorite breed so I stopped and asked to pet him. We get to talking and they go on about their day. 2 months later I'm outside and the guy comes back and said " Did you still like Ace ?" I'm like " who tf is Ace ?" 😂 apparently the now 5 month old puppy. Said his wife was pregnant and they needed to get rid of his cuz his wife was worried about a large dog around her baby. He said he'd sell him to me for $350. I bought him then and there. Immediately went to vet bought all his stuff. It's now been about 5 years. He's the best boy ever. Ironically one night I was walking It's dark out. Start to see a white work van following me slowly. Next thing I know the guy parks and starts following me doesn't say anything. I'm worried but not too worried as I had Ace with me. He approaches and said " is that Ace ?" it dawned on me then it was his old owner. I said " yes but don't come closer he's very protective " he didn't believe me.He kept approaching and said " it's fine I'm sure he remembers me don't ya boy" again I said " stay back" he got within 1 foot of me and when he reached his arm out Ace lunged for him. Thank God he listened but I had to bear hug him and tell fhe guy to just go. Ace did not like him at all

My first day volunteering a dog was surrendered because he was barking too much in their apartment. The dog was so sad and it was heartbreaking to see. He was adopted by a family with two little girls that adore him. They sent a Christmas card and it was the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen!

Surrendering a pet because of a “change in lifestyle” should result in the people being put on a blacklist so they can never get another pet EVER AGAIN. You don’t abandon family members. Period. This is heartbreaking. 💔 I hope they don’t treat the baby with the same disregard that showed poor Bear. that dog would’ve been that baby’s best friend. Humans disgust me.
