The Han Dynasty did defeat the Xiongnu in the north at that time and kept the northern nomadic peoples quiet for about four hundred years. It also did cause many Xiongnu who were unwilling to submit to migrate west. But at least during this period, the nomadic peoples in Europe had nothing to do with the Xiongnu that the Han Chinese faced at the time, because it would have been impossible for them to inexplicably migrate so far in such a short time. Attila's people were probably originally a nomadic tribe living somewhere in Central Asia, and could not have been in East Asia.
