@discoveringct: ... even the security guard was surprised by this 🤯 📍 Sterling Memorial Library at Yale // New Haven, CT The architect James Gamble Rogers wanted the windows to reflect interesting facts about books and libraries. He chose New York City stained glass craftsman G. Owen Bonawit as the artist, who completed all 3,301 stained glass pieces in just over one year. ✅️ VISIT Parts of the library are open to the public (Yale only access after 6 PM). Speak with the guard, view the map in the nave, and watch for signs throughout to understand where you can go. Some rooms are accessible to enter but filming is not allowed. While it's not possible to view all the pieces, there are plenty that you can appreciate wandering the open spaces. 🤓 LEARN If you're curious, you can find out more about the stained glass, other artwork, architecture, and history of the library here on the Yale website. (There's even a detailed digital brochure about the library architecture.) Yale-led tours may also stop inside here. ➡️ SEND to the person who would love this! (Also shout out to the security guard who was so nice to humor me and all my questions! I should have gotten his name but if you see this, thanks for the campus map and all your help at Sterling. I appreciate your kindness!)
