Sometimes it seems like they're treating it like making a nature documentary instead of a reality series. Production can step in here, it's not penguins or something where they don't want to change their behaviour

production "loves" the toxic drama and don't care about any responsibility that they should have. The question is why do we watch it? "We" as viewers are the reason this happens.

I felt so icky seeing Jen Affleck’s prenatal depression being so publicized before she had to pull out from production. Production should have put in fail safes before vulnerable people feel sick enough to ASK to leave.

I was wondering about this. They had several storylines so it wasn’t like they needed to pushed this to get content(mind you it wouldn’t be right but they’ve had a context to deliver x amount of episodes). So at this point they are looking for this, they are exploiting this behavior and help create this scenario and they are showing they don’t have limits. They are feeding her behavior and pushing her to a breaking point even showing her sleeping with the Dakota before an after the bachelorette says how much they want to put a spotlight in her worst behavior and that only makes her act out more

So many reality tv producers let children get abused on tv for years, dance moms, toddlers and tiaras, duggars etc. It is still a pretty unethical mode of making tv as you said at the expense of women and children. Also, the quantity of reality tv shows increases during times of economic struggle and SAG strikes.

The thing with reality tv in it’s inception is that production wants to intervene as little as possible because it no longer is “the reality” of the situation if producers have to step in. The idea is to let situations unfold as if a camera crew wasn’t there documenting it. That’s why so many fights broke out in Bad Girls Club and Mob Wives. The fights were gonna happen. I mean sure in BGC the women are put in a house together but those women were also swinging at other women in the club and on the streets

This. They are seriously failing their duty of care to this cast and it’s gross.
