Why were they recording in the first place? Why did you hear another low flying plane right after the crash?

While, yes, it is very “coincidental” that they ended up filming on the same day as what happened but you also have to remember that people did record a bunch of shit way back in the day like we do. They just had actual camcorders and not cell phones. This documentary was months in the making, and they were there doing a gas leak test just down the road.
