they always send them to foster and residential programs instead of ACTUALLY helping the family and the children who desperately need mental health services. There is little to nothing available for children in the US who need mental health services. 😞

Contact CPS and see what kind of contact/influence you can have with him, what the waiting period is, etc. and see how you can be involved since you want to be. Tell his family to contact CPS and DHHR to see what kind of resources are available for them to improve themselves and do what they need to do to help him as well.
