Tubular Reabsorption The filtrate moves through the proximal convoluted tubule, loop of Henle, distal convoluted tubule, and collecting duct. Useful substances such as glucose, amino acids, much of the water, and necessary electrolytes are reabsorbed into the blood. 3. Tubular Secretion Additional waste substances, excess ions, and certain drugs are actively secreted from the blood into the renal tubules. This helps maintain the body's pH, electrolyte balance, and waste removal. Formation of Final Urine After filtration, reabsorption, and secretion, the remaining fluid becomes urine. It flows through the collecting ducts into the renal pelvis, then through the ureters to the urinary bladder, where it is stored until it leaves the body through the urethra.
