This happened to me too. Now I only accept e-transfers on auto deposit. If it’s cash I meet inside the bank to confirm the money. ALSO some fake money doesn’t peel off… look on the back and all the serial numbers are identical that’s another indicator that it’s fake.. every serial number should be different for every bill

Turn on auto deposit and only take e transfers. Auto deposit because once they send it to you it automatically goes into your account without it on they are able to unsend the payment as soon as they drive off

I’ve use e transfer without hiccup with auto deposit turned off. Learn to tell what a real e transfer is supposed to look like. Check “from” email, Interac e transfer also shows you the last used bank you deposited money with if you don’t have auto deposit on. Also when you click on the bank, it should always open the bank app installed on your phone not some website. Website is phishing link to fake login and steal your info. I have auto deposited turned off and always ask the buyer to send in advance and share password at meetup. Avoids delays etc. always meet at police station. Scammers most likely aren’t meeting you at police station. If you insist on cash, meet at the bank and withdraw/deposit together.
