It sold out in Asia and barely moved in America 👇 🌏 ASIA Popular configurations gone within minutes across China, Japan and South Korea. Taiwan opened at 8pm local, and Chunghwa Telecom filled its entire online quota in two minutes. Taiwan Mobile said Pro-series reservations nearly doubled year over year. Far EasTone reported roughly the same. 🇺🇸 THE US Thirty minutes after pre-orders opened, every iPhone 18 Pro color and storage option still showed September 18 delivery. Nothing had slipped. That basically never happens. AppleInsider called it "a surprisingly slow start." PhoneArena went further: "surprisingly weak demand." 📉 WHAT DID MOVE The Pro Max saw some slippage. Burgundy 256GB was first to go, from September 18 out to an October 6–13 window within an hour. Glacier and silver followed. The regular Pro? Nothing. 🤔 SO WHAT'S HAPPENING The most likely explanation is the iPhone Duo. Foldable pre-orders don't open until October 16, and it starts at $1,999. If you've got upgrade money, you might be sitting on it for another month. It could also be simpler. Apple may have built more stock this year. Better supply produces the same visible result as weaker demand, and from the outside you can't tell which you're looking at. There's also timing. Apple moved pre-orders to Saturday this year instead of the usual Friday, likely because Friday was September 11.
