The first time I opened the bible in years, I was praying to Goddesses of Wisdom, so I was confused and reluctant, especially given my religious trauma. When I finally relented, the first verse I read was from Proverbs: “Wisdom is a Tree of Life to ALL who lay hold of Her.” … I’ll never forget. The Divine Feminine has always been here, and men have spent centuries trying to erase Her… and us.

The Bible was written when women hardly had rights and were not allowed to be educated. Many critics of early Christianity pointed out how it appeals too much to women as they had a huge role in the church (Phoebe, a deaconess mentioned in Romans 16:1-2; Priscilla, who taught Apollos alongside her husband Aquila in Acts 18:26; and the many women who supported Jesus' ministry) There are books of the Bible solely dedicated to women's stories, testimonies, and power. There were women judges in the book of judges, the first person to see that Jesus was risen was a group of women, specifically Mary Magdalene (John 20:1), but she was with a group (including Mary the mother of James, Salome, Joanna, and others) The Bible fights for spiritual equality of men and women (Galatians 3:28) Although I can not deny the Bible is male centered, I can say it was very progressive for the time it was written and got a lot of backlash for it. Please think of the historical context and the actual text in the Bible before making a take such as "the Bible is too male centered to be 100% true" and if you already have thought into it, I would love to hear a rebuttal

I think too many “strong alpha Christian men” try and cut women out of religion, and that there has been rampant sexism under the guise of Christianity, but I feel the Bible and Christianity itself (speaking as a Catholic- I can’t speak on other denominations) hold women in the highest regard. We are the backbone of life- it is human men who hold us down, not my God.
