I once had a job where staff HAD to put their handbags/wallets in lockers after a spate of things going missing. I always felt weird about it and refused. Turns out the thief was head of HR. The one who ordered us to use the lockers. The one who was alone in the room with the lockers. Always trust your gut.

It’s funny because my school, if you had a locker because they were $40 per term, made you use a school supplied dial padlock with the combination stamped onto the back.

when I was in highschool we realised that a bunch of people had the same generic key lock from the supermarket as us and they all used the same key, went round unlocking all the locks, and people were really confused end of day.

The lockers in junior school didn’t have locks because they didn’t want us locking ourselves out of our lockers but all it meant was that someone stole my can of fanta 🥲 couldn’t snitch either because we weren’t allowed fizzy drinks at school in the first place

start of the school year. we had to put our own locks on our lockers at school. one morning the office calls me in to tell me that I locked the wrong locker, mine was next to the locked one. I said I'd remove it immediately. they said, no, the handyman had already cut my lock off and all my stuff (personal belongings, medicine, books, etc.) were just sitting in the office. the lockers didn't have numbers on them, so I was very confused and upset at having to buy a new lock for a small mistake that could have been fixed easily if they'd called me earlier
