Why kids need to know Nepali.parent like to teach Nepali but the kids don’t have any interest. So forcing the kids to do something they don’t like is child abuse.

Hamile bhanna sajilo huncha but as parents i can relate kati garho huncha bhanera. Mero chora ni 3 years bhayo ani he has started learning english. One of the approach i am taking chahi chora lai ghar ma nepali bolnu parcha hai ani school ma matrai engish bhanchu. Usle khi magyo bhane pani nepali ma bhana ani matrai garchu bhanchu. 3 mai garho huncha hamilai. Its hard sis. You are trying your level best. 🥰🥰❤️❤️

Mero chori learn from her grandparents. Sangai vayou vanne grandparents sanga they love to learn more Nepali language. Don’t worry sis,she is just 6. Grown up hudai jadha usle ajhai more learn garna khojchaan.I will do same ghar huda Nepali nai bolchu. same situation here, tried nepali class during weekends too. my daughter uses an app called "ling", she likes it , please be patient, improve huncha as they grow older. make it a fun interaction like games - convert English into nepali for xyz bhanera lagaune.

I can relate this so much, My kids don’t really speak Nepali either even though we have tried so many times. Sometimes they dont even understand certain things when we speak Nepali so we end up having to speak english with them. And honestly by the end of the day we are tired too so its not always easy to keep up with it every single time. Recently our Nepali community actually started Nepali school once a week. The parents volunteer and teach the kid Nepali. So we are trying that now, lets see how it goes

Language development ko lagi exposure is important. Nepali community sanga interact garaunubhayobhane alikati she can develop Nepali language n you can give more exposure through audio, n videos as well as Nepali stories.

My friend early on made his kid realize that the only way to communicate with the grandparents was through Nepali. That helped since the grandparents didn’t speak any English the kid loved his grandparents. But it’s normal too to, as humans, learn, speak, adapt to the language as our peers. The same family recently moved back to Nepal cause it wasn’t just the language, there was this entire disconnect with Nepali culture, language, people, etc.

it’s very different per child and their unique personality. We have the same struggle. Tell her Nepali is your secret language. Also let her feel the more language you speak, the smarter you are. She needs to understand and realize the value of being able to speak multiple languages.
