Geographical location edit The village of Verkhnyaya Pisarevka is located on the right bank of the Pechenezhskoye Reservoir (Seversky Donets River) at the confluence of the Polnaya River; there is a bridge. At this point, the reservoir bed is heavily indented, with many islands. The village is surrounded by large pine forests, home to numerous holiday homes and children's camps. Two kilometers upstream are the villages of Grafskoye and Tsyurupa (uninhabited), and four kilometers downstream is the village of Bugayevka. The T-2104 highway runs nearby, two kilometers away. Origin of the name edit The village was previously called Pisarevka. About the origin of the name[3]: The Pisarevskaya land belonged to a clerk of the Kharkov regiment, hence the name Pisarevka. History edit 1712 is the date of the first mention of the village[1]. In the early 20th century, Kolokoltsov built a small sugar factory, an orphanage, and his own estate here. During Soviet times, a bus route from Kharkov served the village. During the Soviet era, the village and its surrounding area were a resort area.
