Unhinged things I did to get to 150k invested by age 28 1. I treated every job like a stepping stone. Giving myself an 18 month period before aiming to move on because after 18 months you’re not really learning anything new, you’re just getting more and more comfortable. Unless there’s a salary increase or an opportunity to learn a new skill I’m hunting. 2. I increased my income out side of my 9-5. We don’t just diversity our investments we also want to diverisify our income streams. I have 7+ income streams. 3. I studied what successful people were doing and copied their formula. That mindset of if they can do it , I can do it to has served me with increasing my income. 4. I have no problem escalating issues. I don’t brush issues under the carpet I’d rather solve the cause of the issue. 5. I broke down huger goals. Last year I wanted to make £10,000 in a year from side hustles so I broke it down to £27 a day. I ended the year side hustling £40,000. This years goal is 100k 6. I live below my means it lived extremely below my means when I was on the lowest income. It takes time to get to 43k but I still had huge financial goals to achieve in my early 20’s while on 16k. I bought my first house at 21 in Manchester. 7. I gave up my nice house to buy the worst house on the nicest street and lived in it for 2 years while I renovated it. If you add value to a property you can take money out when you remortgage which you can use to do the same thing again. 8. I started investing at age 21. Time in the market beats timing the market. I started with £50 a month, then £200 a month, then £500 a month, then £1000 a month and now I currrentlt aim for around £2000 a month. I’ve gained over 20k in the last year just from the compound interest. 9. I invested all my side hustle income. Just because I earn more I don’t choose to spend more or increase my lifestyle. 10. I budget every month and set myself challenges like giving myself £50 a month for anything fun or non essential for 3 months of the year. Weirdly it gives you a reset of how much you actually spend and also tricks your brain into saving more because eventually you no longer even miss those things when you’re not doing the challenge. Gamify everything and make financial goals fun. #PersonalFinance When investing your capital is at risk. Past results don’t guarantee future results. Always do your own research.
