@skys.shutter.stories: 🚨 Another Flock camera in the Yakima area has been cut down, this time near Summitview Ave and 96th Ave in West Valley. The camera was located on the north side of Summitview Ave and was facing west. 📸 This is now the third Flock camera that I’m aware of that has been cut down in the Yakima area. 🎥 A follower noticed the camera had been cut down and sent over video of the scene. The footage was provided by the follower and was not taken by Sky’s Shutter, so it has a different visual style than the usual footage posted here. ⏰ It is currently unknown exactly when the camera was cut down, but the footage and information were received today. 👁️ The incidents come as opposition to Flock cameras continues to grow in communities across the country. Critics have raised concerns about AI-powered surveillance, the amount of data these systems can collect and retain, potential access to that data, and what they describe as the expansion of mass surveillance technology. 💻 There are also broader concerns surrounding the infrastructure required to store and process the increasing amount of data generated by AI systems, including the energy and data-center resources involved.
