History feels different when you can stand face to face with it. Museum Hue had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Joanne Martin, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the National Great Blacks In Wax Museum, and William Redmond, Special Projects Lead, to talk about the power of preserving Black history through a unique storytelling method: wax figures. Since opening its doors in 1983, the museum has spent more than four decades bringing history to life and putting a face to the people that have shaped our society today. William's connection to the museum is a story in itself. He's been part of the team for more than 30 years, starting when he was just 9 years old. It's a testament to the museum's lasting impact on the community and the generations it continues to inspire. As Dr. Martin shares, the National Great Blacks in Wax Museum is flipping the script on what a wax museum can do by making Black history personal and tangible. #MuseumHue #HueArtsVoices #Baltimore #BlackHistory #BlackMuseum
