you're a miracle. my dad passed from this, he went to the ER and literally told them "I think I'm bleeding internally" and it still wasn't caught in time. they move SO fast.

I had my type A dissection 9 months ago today! My mom had one (and survived) in 2018, and found out she had Marfan. I was already being monitored with yearly scans, but my aorta wasn’t at a concerning diameter. I was at happy hour, felt something like a warming sensation in my chest, then passed out. I woke up after the EMTs got there. At the ER I said I didn’t think I was having a dissection but FYI my mom had one. Did a CT, they came back and said “yep, it’s a dissection we are waiting for the helicopter”. It still feels surreal!

As an ER nurse, terrifying! I have always been taught you treat ALL chest pain serious regardless of patient presentation because of things like this!! So happy you and baby were okay 🫶🏻

Incredible story and you are correct you are so so so so so lucky. My husband, that was literally my night and shining armor of three years. It was very healthy. He dropped in our bathroom our dream home and died in seconds his rupture. He passed a ruptured, aortic dissection. I had no knowledge of this at all until this happened to him. God bless you.

Sounds like SCAD- sudden coronary artery dissection , the most common form of heart attack/MI in pregnancy / postpartum. I’ve seen it only once as a provider in the OBGYN ER. So scary, so glad you are ok!

I didn’t know we had a week!!!?? Learn something new! I love this❤️I had mine 9 days postpartum, I dropped and went into cardiac arrest. Took them 15 minutes to resuscitate me. My youngest will be 3 next month ❤️❤️❤️
