You shouldnโt do that, you invite a few people or everyone.

This is when your mum friends should step up and ask the other parent discretely if it was an error. (I missed one friend off my wedding invites by accident and the whole group talked about it together and not one of them quietly mentioned it to me to check. Really frustrating.)

Oh littles birthday drama is real.
.
Once my kid was invited to dinner/cake and to bring a present but was left out of the "before" fun party activity and the "after" sleep over.
.
We didn't realize until we showed up for dinner- and all the kids had goody bags from the "fun" activity and were excitedly talking about the sleepover. After 15 minutes of her crying in the bathroom (because everyone except her was invited to both) we went home with no dinner, no cake, and no present we had brought as it was already given to the birthday girl.
.
The mom had the audacity to tell me this was the perfect time for my 6 year old to learn that not everyone gets invited to everything. My kid *still* carries that BS with her. Including everyone except one kid is cruel.

Just tell your kid he canโt go because you are taking him to something else more important and then find something awesome to do. That way your kid doesnโt feel left out. Itโs a white lie and they donโt know they werenโt invited. And when they tell their classmates about the cool thing they did they feel a little left out and might rethink excluding your kid in the future because they may be more fun than they thought.

When I was a child, I was forced to invite kids to my birthday parties whom I wasnโt friends with, because my mother thought it was the right thing to do. I hated it, so at some point I just asked not to celebrate it at all.

I would ask because itโs going to be either one of two things, either it was an oversight, and your child will be able to go or their child has expressed concerns to their parent about your child and how they treat them at school, which I would absolutely want to address with my child if that were the case

If my kid ever gets to invite the whole class, it would mean the WHOLE CLASS. It's more common here to only invite 4-8 kids here though. And they're not allowed to give out the invitations in class.

Here's the thing, if it was my kid's party and she didn't want your kid there (for whatever reason) your kid isn't coming. My kid deserves to be comfortable at her own birthday party. If my kid was the one being left out, I would teach her not to care (you can't force people to like you and if they don't, you don't waste energy on them), we're going out for the day and she's getting Maccas probably ๐คฃ

I understand it is upswting if your child is not invited. However, birthdays are expensive. you may also have friends outside the school and sometimes you may have a limit of 20 or 30 kids.
if you really think it is a mistake the best way is for another mun to say hi, Can I check if you have invited x? I was going to talk to her and did not want to say something wrong.

Does it never occur to these parents that their kid lost the invite? Sending party invites into school and expecting them to all find their way back to families is crazy.

In my sonโs school if you wanted to send invis to the school you either invited everyone, all the girls or all the boysโฆanything else that involved โpicking and choosingโ had to be done on your own external efforts
