I would love to find one of these people and make them eat a plate of this stuff. It smells like straight ammonia. I'm an extremely adventurous eater and when I tried hakarl I felt literal survival mechanisms telling me "don't put this in your mouth".

Then you gotta cancel the hells kitchen guy too. He also hated it. Bourdain obviously appreciated it because he still ate it. That shark must have been REALLY bad too because he also ate warthog rectum with the San Bushmen in the Kalahari. That looked awful and it gave him a parasite.

What I always think is funny is how people are gen convinced Icelandic people eat Hakarl regularly when they don’t. Hakarl was eaten during times where food was low for their ancestors, but now as Iceland has a stable food supply they eat it to remember their roots and ancestors during celebrations and holidays like Þorrablót.
