@oniichanhq: A true Christmas and Comedy legend 🕊️ For decades, she turned eccentricity into an art form. Whether she was panicking her way across the country as Kate McCallister, reinventing every vowel as Moira Rose, or embracing pure gothic chaos as Delia Deetz, O’Hara understood that great comedy wasn’t just about delivering a joke. It was about committing to a character so completely that audiences believed every ridiculous second of it. Some of her most beloved roles include: Moira Rose (Schitt’s Creek) Kate McCallister (Home Alone / Home Alone 2) Delia Deetz (Beetlejuice / Beetlejuice Beetlejuice) Sally / Shock (The Nightmare Before Christmas) Cookie Fleck (Best in Show) Sheila Albertson (Waiting for Guffman) Mickey Crabbe (A Mighty Wind) Marilyn Hack (For Your Consideration) Various characters (SCTV) Dr. Georgina Orwell (A Series of Unfortunate Events) and many more! From her improv roots at Second City and SCTV to Home Alone, Beetlejuice, and the late-career phenomenon of Schitt’s Creek, O’Hara remained funny, strange, fearless, and unmistakably herself. She passed away on January 30, 2026, at 71, and was recently honored by Macaulay Culkin, Dan Levy, and Annie Murphy during the 2026 Emmys. Catherine O’Hara didn’t simply play unforgettable characters. She made being wonderfully, unapologetically weird feel timeless. Rest in peace to a true comedy original. 🕊️❤️ #catherineohara #homealone #schittcreek
