On April 16, young Adrian Thompson (8 years old) lost her life following a tragic choking incident at Velma Penny Elementary School in Lindale, Texas. Recently, with the authorization of her devastated family, security footage and statements have come to light, revealing an alarming lack of urgency on the part of school staff during the most critical moments. At 11:40 a.m., security cameras captured the girl clutching her throat in a desperate plea for help. Instead of immediately performing life-saving maneuvers to clear her airway, a school staff member directed her toward a trash can—assuming she was about to vomit—and then asked if she wanted to go to the restroom. Witnesses state that the child had to run to the nurse’s office entirely on her own, with no one accompanying her or providing first aid. Nearly two precious minutes passed before she reached the nurse’s office. The Heimlich maneuver was applied too late, by which time the child had already begun to turn blue. Furthermore, an investigation by the Texas Rangers uncovered a serious failure: the "LifeVac" rescue devices kept at the school were equipped only with adult-sized masks—completely unsuitable for a child her age. The young girl collapsed and could not be resuscitated. Following the revelation of this heart-wrenching evidence, Adrian’s family is desperately seeking accountability and justice, demanding that school authorities and the staff involved be held legally responsible for their lack of preparation and negligence.
