🎙️ ACCORDING 2 DEE — A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE 🔥 HELPING… OR ENABLING? 🔥 This one might make some people uncomfortable—but that's exactly why we need to talk about it. Every week, organizations like ours hit the streets providing food, water, clothing, tents, hygiene supplies, Narcan, harm-reduction supplies, and support to people struggling with homelessness and addiction. I believe in that work. I DO that work. But I've also had to ask myself a difficult question: At what point does helping someone survive their situation become enabling them to stay in it? Before anybody twists that—I'm NOT saying stop feeding people. I'm not saying take away tents. I'm damn sure not saying stop carrying Narcan. You can't recover if you're dead. But harm reduction isn't the same thing as recovery. So how do we meet somebody exactly where they're at while still showing them that where they're at doesn't have to be where they stay? This conversation is personal for me because I've stood on BOTH sides of it. I've been the person struggling with addiction, homelessness and incarceration. Today, I'm the person handing out the food, carrying the Narcan, having the conversations and trying to help somebody find a different way. And sometimes the person who says “NO” to treatment today might be looking for you tomorrow saying: “I'm ready.” When that moment comes, WE BETTER FUCKING BE THERE. So I want to hear from YOU: 👇 Where is the line between HELPING and ENABLING? Can we practice harm reduction AND encourage recovery at the same time? Watch the whole video before forming your opinion, then drop your perspective in the comments. You don't have to agree with me… BUT WE'RE GONNA FUCKING TALK ABOUT IT. 🎙️🔥 #According2Dee #philly #HelpingOrEnabling #HarmReduction #Recovery
