Laura :
I’ve commented before, that I’m currently in a slow burn building up nicely. 2.5 months in, we’ve had 4 dates. We are both workaholics and have both been allowing life to take priority (as it should right now). I took an emotional risk the other day and said that I thought we both should start prioritising a little more time together and communicating more regularly, but that it shouldn’t feel pressurised. He agreed, and said he didn’t want this to fizzle out. Hey presto, we’ve both put the effort in, communicated better, and had a lovely catch up in person yesterday with big steps in openness, future plans discussed while keeping the relaxed and intentional feel we’ve had from the start! I’ve never had a slow burn before, and have realised that the love bombing I’ve handled until now in previous relationships makes me overwhelmed, anxious, and an unpleasant person to be around 3/4 months in when the honeymoon period is over and a more normal pattern of life kicks in. This feels sustainable, buildable, and so incredibly reassuring. We’re building something on shared values and morals, at a sustainable pace! Thank you for all your reassurance that I’m doing the right thing! ❤️
