Po’s Muah Chee in Chinatown is one of those old-school treats worth seeking out. Owner Lai Hongyun makes her muah chee using a recipe passed down from her late grandma. The texture is what got me — super soft and chewy, yet doesn’t stick to your teeth, almost like Japanese warabi mochi! And please eat it in BIG pieces. Somehow just more shiok like that. 😂 Pair it with her house-made soy milk gao too — thick thick, smooth and without the pulp.
