my daughter calls it hand jail! She covered my grandson's hands so he wouldn't scratch his face. He had developed touch sensitivity. He did not like touching play doh, sand, finger paints even food. He is now just over 2yrs old and learning to touch these thing without stress and anxiety. She is not using the mittens on her newborn today! 🥰

My baby wears mittens because to protect him from the scratching of his skin. He has eczema. But I do take them off when he’s not scratching, so he can touch and have sensory stimulation. Don’t want him to have them on all the time.
