Sheeran said several venues threatened to pull upcoming shows if Macklemore remained on the lineup following his New Jersey performances, and that he spent the week speaking with venues, including Patriots owner Robert Kraft, and others in an attempt to find a solution. Sheeran also addressed criticism of his decision not to publicly take a side in the Israel-Palestinian conflict. “I am not complicit,” he wrote, saying he has personal views but chooses not to use his professional platform for politics. “Just because I choose not to speak publicly, it doesn’t mean I don’t have them, and it doesn’t mean I don’t care.”
