The true high IQ move here is understanding when a normative statement is hiding under a factual one. By that, I mean understanding when someone is saying a factual statement as cover for their motives. “13/50” springs to mind as a real world example. A factual data point that is only ever used as a justification for racial bigotry, and never in any other context. And sadly even very intelligent people fall for this scam because they haven’t internalized the idea that data does not tell anyone how to move forward. It’s a number on a graph. A static truth that doesn’t do anything until you as the observer take it into account.

the fastest way to spot someone with a low iq is not whtehrr they apply logic to other things or have misses if anything the ability to spot those misses is more correlated with intelligence and any normative anlaysis people make points to iq if they have nearly all misses then it could be linked to iq a better predictor is success like graduating harvard ravens matrices or verbal knowledge and output and any heuristic has outliers and the probability field of any guess on intelligence is stupid because the vast majority of people fall in the middle

Depends on context. Many peopel use enthymemes to get their point across, its basically an argument with an unstated premise for sake of brevity. When someone brings up a statistic its not always indicative of a normative conclusion, but depending on the phraseology, prior statements, and emotional connotation, it very well can be. So this isnt a hardset rule to distinguish intelligence from stupidity. However if someone displays a pattern of doing this despite the conditions mentioned, then yea they are probably dullminded
