Death changes the number of members, but, what if 9 were absent and unavailable to vote as with the current situation of a few senators. Is 2/3 16? if so, does that not mean an abstencia equals automatic no vote and since 9 are absent and 2/3 therefore cannot be achieved, the mechanism of impeachment is made null.
