The most disappointing part of paying off debt is there are no balloons or confetti

I really have to stick to “not everything I eat has to be a delicious happy meal. Food is fuel and I need fuel.”

One thing I also did was took out a loan against my paid off car. Rates were amazing, like 1.49% and paid off credit card debt because the credit card interest was WAY higher than the loan against my car. Becoming credit card debt free feels amazing.

Whole Foods family meal packs is great easy meal prep for a single person! I get two & switch between whichever for lunch/dinner. Affordable and healthy. Pre-portioned.

I didn’t realize that I was sinking funds; my mom has been wanting a kitchen aid for years and I’ve been setting aside $15 a week since about May so that I can gift one to her for her birthday or Christmas! Thank you for teaching me a new term! ☺️

Heavy on the “you have food at home” 🥲 but that’s what’s helped us too! Along with meal prep too.

I started saving money on groceries by not shopping one week a month. I challenged myself to use whatever I had in my pantry/freezer and meal prepped. I started to enjoy the challenge and I probably only grocery shop twice a month now and cut my grocery bill in half. I learned what foods I can buy bulk that I actually like to eat

0% balance transfers are great but sometimes too good to be true if you do not understand the terms of the promotional rate. Many people get themselves into really tough positions when transferring a balance without understanding how they need to pay that balance off before the interest hits. Just my two cents as someone who paid off $65k of credit card debt 😅 but seriously everything else you said….YES. Yes to it all. All day long!

also do this. if there's anything you can't get to zero interest, call those credit cards and tell them you just learned you are going to be laid off and ask about any zero interest hardship programs. I just got zero interest for 6 months on two of our cards just by making the phone call and asking. if they ask how long you think you will be laid off, tell them a year.

The zero Apr loan is helpful but a good chunk of people then end up with the loan payment and running the cards back up so you really have to be in a certain head space. Don’t feel bad that you didn’t do it sooner .
