@artem_pankovich: BMW N47 - WHAT WAS INSIDE? Cleaning the Intake | Before & After. • We continue cleaning the intake system on the BMW 5 Series F10 with the N47 diesel engine. After removing the intake manifold, throttle body and other components, it is time to see how bad everything actually is. • First, every component is inspected. Then the carbon and soot deposits are mechanically removed, everything is thoroughly washed and finally dried before reassembly. • The before-and-after difference is going to be quite impressive, especially on the intake manifold and swirl flap assembly. • There is also an interesting detail during reassembly. This intake manifold does not use a conventional separate gasket. The complete swirl flap assembly is replaced, and the sealing element is integrated into it. This is what provides the airtight connection between the manifold and cylinder head. • New sealing components are installed and all the cleaned parts go back onto the engine.
