News Brainy :
🐄 What a cool encounter! Your little guy is a Longhorn Cowfish (Lactoria cornuta). They can be surprisingly curious and interactive with people, so it definitely looks like he picked you! ❤️Just one important thing I wanted to mention because you may not know: cowfish can release a toxin from their skin when they’re severely stressed, injured, or die. In an aquarium, that toxin can potentially affect or kill the other fish. Since you have clownfish and other tank mates, I’d keep a close eye on him and avoid anything that could stress or injure him. Also, because he came directly from the ocean, it’s a good idea to quarantine wild-caught fish before putting them into an established aquarium, since they can carry parasites or other diseases. He’s a beautiful fish, and I hope he does well! Just wanted to give you a heads-up so you can keep your new little friend — and the rest of your fish — safe. 🐠❤️

I don’t think he’s supposed to be taken home as a pet and definitely shouldn’t be in a tank with other fish due to the toxins it excretes

You put that little guy back from where you got him. From his enormous beautiful home to a puddle. So sad 😞

Why did you take it from its natural environment? You should take it back rather than keeping it in a tank
