They say the new DepEd grading system is bad, but for me, it feels normal. I think it actually challenges us more and helps us improve because we have to be more consistent with our performance. However, I think one disadvantage is the removal of certificates or formal recognition. Certificates can motivate students and give them something tangible to show for their hard work. Even if the grading system helps us improve, removing that recognition can make some students feel like their effort is not being acknowledged.

They did not say they are making it harder to reach honors. What they changed is the transmuted grading system and there are good reasons behind it naman. Some students passed even without putting in real effort, and many reached higher grades without truly mastering basic knowledge. The old system could give a false sense of achievement, so they decided to fix that. They also removed w/high and w/hingest not to take away your achievements, but to avoid competition and some students that reach 90+ have doubt and disappointment (SOME) kasi 1 more point na nga naman to reach the title w/high or highest, focus shifts to your own growth and consistency. Meron pa ring certificate and recognition you just earn them by being consistent every single term submitting excellent outputs, getting high scores, participating actively in class, and doing well on exams.

I'm only g10... the teachers let us see our grades but when we were looking at it I had below 80 but I would've understand but my friends? they have completed everything and I'm good at math I even help them but when they saw their grades they got 73 and 72... we asked on what they were missing.. but the teacher said none... I'm baffled because I helped my friends in math and we got 38+ in exams... but we still got below 80...

It's just a sign u got a high grade, but so what if you didn't get honors? At least at your passing right? And abt the papers at the end of the terms. It's NOT motivation. I don't like how they removed the achievements. But it's okay for me they change the grading students, because i think we were just relying on that grading system making it unfair, Especially those students who's not even trying hard but still get high grade (imo)
