@mappitymapface: Greenland's gotta go big or go home! Greenland shares its only official land border with Canada on Hans Island, a tiny, uninhabited knoll in the Arctic. This 1.2-kilometer boundary was established in 2022, ending a decades-long, friendly dispute known as the "Whisky War" between Canada and Denmark, which represents Greenland in foreign affairs. Beyond this single land frontier, Greenland is primarily bounded by water, including the Arctic Ocean to the north, the Greenland Sea to the east, the Atlantic Ocean to the southeast, and Davis Strait and Baffin Bay to the west. These vast marine borders separate the massive island from nearby nations like Iceland to the east and Svalbard, a territory of Norway, to the northeast. #maps #geography #border #greenland #northamerica
