old gen monster hunter is almost 100% this video. you run back and fourth, back and fourth to get a couple hits in, rinse and repeat until the monster is dead. I'm in upper high rank in GU and omg its a slog. gen 5 actually made you have real fights with monsters. They're very confrontational. as a gunlance player it's very cool to have monsters actually try to focus on you and kill you

I mean it kinda is tbh. Rise lowkey is really amazing but world is legit unplayable for me bc of the clutch claw. Legit isn't fun knowing I am not doing any optimal damage without tenderizing or wallbanging. Wilds was legit to easy and is just kinda ass bc of how you just b line to the monster and barely take in the environment. Or their weird need for constant cutscenes or walking sections. Like new gen has so many improvements but also kinda takes away from what made the series feel so unique

Bro I’m just about finished with G Rank in MH3U, only have Savage Deviljho, Abyssal Lagiacrus and Hallowed Jhen Moran left, let me tell you every fucking monster in this game is like this. Ceadeus just decides to go fuck off to Guam mid hunt, Agnaktor and Uragaan and Lucent Nargacuga just decide to fuck off too. Genuinely it gets to a point 😭

old gen had less flashy bollocks to go with the hunt. Thats why it's better nowadays there so much stock in "flowing combat" and graphical phidelity that its lost the magic of the old games

Well yeah because this is Monster Hunter and the new games are Arena Simulators. Actually tracking the monster and needing to fight it multiple times for upgrades instead of just once. The games have become all Monster no Hunter
