Heavenly treasures (v. 20): These are eternal rewards gained by loving God and serving others. Examples include acts of mercy, generosity, justice, and sharing the faith. These cannot be destroyed or stolen. Where Your Treasure Is, There Your Heart Will Be (v. 21) Jesus teaches that the heart follows the treasure. Whatever a person values most dictates where they spend their time, money, and energy. Focusing on worldly success ties a person's emotions and identity to temporary things.
