i get my hair dyed red. i once went to a stylist who had no idea of what she was doing, and my roots ended up being literally neon orange (like actually neon). i did, in fact, very politely tell her that this needed to be fixed before I left the salon, and it was (took another few hours).

not exactly the same but i used to work in food and would be so upset when people left bad reviews but acted like everything was fine in the moment. like i could’ve made it better! i didn’t WANT you to have a bad experience!

I feel like it’s fine to also tell them the bangs are too short. I appreciate when somebody comes back to me and they say hey last time the bangs just came out a little bit too short and then I just know not to cut them that short this time like please just tell me anything bc then I have a better idea of what I need to do to make you love your hair

Lowkey if they f up enough I don’t trust them anymore OR trust them to fix it and not make it worse😭 want to go to someone else I trust to fix it. I don’t write bad reviews or post TikTok’s about it tho.

Trust your intuition when you are discussing what you want. If you get a weird feeling, have the courage to get up and leave the appointment before they ruin your hair! Yes hair grows back but not fast enough😅

As a stylist- if she’s your regular stylist you go to- plz tell her in the moment it’s a bit short, or take a picture to show next time! She prolly won’t remember 3 months from now exactly where she cut them last time! I agree w everything else tho!

Same goes with nails. Except with nails I think it’s easier to see while they’re doing them that they’ll be wrong so there’s no reason to not speak up then

I only complain to my husband about it plus it's usually something small that I ask them to fix. Never thought to complain online lol. My stylists never get what I want perfect, but thats okay. I know I am the picky problem. The original one who did do it right, I moved away from.

My family had a stylist while I was growing up who taught me how to be a good and respectful hair stylist customer (she was also like a second mom to me, our families were very close until her passing during Covid) and now my current stylist is like “you’re one of my favorite customers, you’re honest without being rude” 😭😭😭

As a hairstylist, it takes me 5 minutes to fix what you hate. It takes 2-5 appointments for me to understand you, your routine, your preferences, your schedule, etc. in order to get your hair perfect. Don’t expect perfect first appointment and speak up.

I always ask in the beginning especially with braids … like is this the exact size and style you want … then later … are you satisfied… is there anything you’d like to change or fix before I do the final touches?… I appreciate honesty and it helps me work better with people…
