@doctor.painkiller: Your “sinus headaches” might need a second opinion. I said “90%?!” with just enough disbelief to make my med student second-guess herself. I may have rigged the vibes. But the statistic is real: roughly 90% of self-diagnosed “sinus headaches” turn out to be migraine. That’s headaches people think are sinus-related—not headaches from confirmed sinus infections. Migraine can come with congestion, watery eyes, and facial pressure, which makes the mix-up understandable. Send this to the person who always says, “It’s just my sinuses.” They deserve to know there may be another explanation. This is for education only, not medical advice. Talk to your doctor. #migraine #doctor #neurology
as a migraine & sinus problem girlie it will always turn into a migraine

My med student’s only mistake was trusting my acting. Who’s the “it’s my sinuses” person in your life? Send this to them—especially if that person is you.

I was convinced my sinus headaches were different from my migraines. My neurologist set me straight and convinced me to take my rescue meds as soon as possible. It was life changing.

Yep, so my neurologist doesn’t believe me on this until I started insisting he called me Dr and suddenly he does. I also sent him the research paper showing us. My migraines are often triggered by barometric pressure changes and will show as sinus pressure and a headache from that and then turn into a full-blown migraine if I don’t take steps to treat it. And my rescue migraine meds will solve the sinus headache.

😳 I had terrible sinus headaches my whole life and was finally diagnosed with migraine in my mid-30s when I started having stroke-like symptoms and losing my vision after changing jobs. I don’t really get headaches anymore but still get bad visual auras.

Wait, so I never get “sick” but get really bad sinus headaches and my doctor has always just given me meds for a sinus infection bc of the pain and it’s more likely that I was having another form of a migraine???

This makes so much sense because I think they’re sinus headaches until it gets bad enough that it registers as a migraine.

See this is why I now call them all headaches- because it’s not always 1 sided but get sensitive to sound and light then if not treated, nausea, emesis, brain fog etc. i used the Advil/acetaminophen duel and it worked great!

I wanted it to be just migraines, but my seasonal sinus infections said HAHAHA NOPE IT'S BOTH FOR YOU LOSER
The migraine inflames the sinuses and the sinuses trigger the migraine. Then the tension headaches join in and its a party... 😭
