Insufficient Rear Braking Force Explained | Volkswagen Group Repair. • This vehicle arrived after a technical inspection with a common issue found on many Volkswagen Group vehicles - insufficient braking force on the rear axle. • The rear brake systems used on Volkswagen, Audi, Škoda and SEAT vehicles are very similar in design, which means they often suffer from the same problems. • One of the most common causes is rear brake pads seizing inside the caliper carrier due to corrosion and rust buildup on the contact surfaces. • Once the pads can no longer move freely, they fail to apply proper pressure to the brake disc, resulting in reduced braking performance and failed inspection results. • In this video, we perform a complete rear brake service including replacement of rear brake discs and pads, cleaning all contact surfaces, servicing the caliper guide pins, and correctly preparing all sliding areas. • Special attention is given to modern brake pads that come with factory-applied adhesive pads on the contact points. • When these adhesive pads are present, applying anti-squeal grease to the caliper piston or contact claws is strictly prohibited.
