@Pillow Talk ~ Christmas is here!!! 🎄🤍🎅
Gaza Civil Defence spokesperson Mahmoud Basal says his crews have spent 41 continuous days pulling bodies from the rubble, recovering 170 martyrs from 17 buildings in the second phase of the operation, carried out in coordination with the International Committee of the Red Cross. Dozens more remain unaccounted for in the same sites, and teams are moving from one destroyed house to the next with what he describes as almost no equipment, unable to reach most of the homes known to hold bodies beneath them. Basal puts the number still buried across Gaza at more than 8,000, and appeals to international organisations to supply the machinery and tools needed to close the file of the missing. The shortage is not incidental: the Israeli occupation destroyed much of the Civil Defence fleet during the assault and continues to restrict the entry of heavy machinery, cutting equipment and fuel, leaving crews to lift concrete slabs by hand while families wait, in some cases for close to two years, for anything that would let them bury their dead. @mahmoudbasal88
